Cenote Dzonbacal
It is a semi-open cenote with free fall, where to reach the body of water you descend by a masonry staircase. The water is crystal clear and in the deepest parts it acquires a blue color. The water mirror measures 25 meters long by 15 wide, with a minimum depth of .30 meters and a maximum of 30 meters.
It is managed by the Tumben Zazil Kin Zonot Cooperative, which cares for and maintains the quality of tourist services, by charging a small fee. It has rustic cabins for lodging, rental equipment for snorkeling, life jackets and bicycles.
It is a place with good conditions for swimming, bird watching, and diving as long as there is the necessary preparation, since it has a large underwater cavern. The use of life jackets is recommended, avoid the use of sunscreen and do not leave garbage on the site.
This cenote is located 49 kilometers south of the city of Mérida, taking the Mérida-Muna highway, where at kilometer 38 it deviates on the right bank towards the Cacao farm. Upon reaching this town, take the road that leads to the San Antonio Mulix police station, traveling 3 kilometers of paved road in regular condition and narrow, where there is a tourist parador of the community center. It covers an entrance fee and they will point you to the 2.3 kilometer white road that leads to the cenotes of the ejido.
