It has 3 spring-type cenotes on the ground. The cenote Helechos with crystalline and shallow waters, on the side of which is a small spring. The second water hole is a kind of jacuzzi and the spring cenote called Venado, which is the largest and a little deeper.
To get to the third cenote called Pájaros a path of white sand among the mangrove trees where it is possible to observe various birds that inhabit the area. The site is ideal for swimming and observing flora and fauna. The use of life jackets is recommended, avoiding the use of sunscreen and insect repellants, as well as not littering or disturbing wildlife.
This place is located 36 kilometers north of the city from Mérida, taking the highway to Progreso, from where it deviates to the right at the road distributor towards the port of Chicxulub traveling 2 kilometers by paved road, until reaching the tourist parador, where an entrance fee is paid. Afterwards, you take a boat that crosses the rafting track and, navigating 200 meters through a water channel between the mangroves, you reach the site.
